It probably is the same as programmer / computer field MALE and FEMALE ratio. I doubt anyone here would reject the idea having 50% of females typing every day as much as males do. I am doing IT and programming at the same time, I don't see a single girl doing IT or programming at the companies I work with (SMBs) doing anything close to hackernews material things other than graphic design or social marketing.
