List like these are just clickbait conjecture. No one in data science would tell you not to learn R and no one in web development would tell you not to learn Typescript. Most of the languages on the list are important and widely used in certain fields and specific areas of the tech industry. While many of the niche areas of tech and the programming languages that serve them may not be popular, they are important and necessary. We shouldn't dissuade the new generations from exploring the less glamorous aspects of tech just because it's not currently the cool thing to do. Those things still need to be done, we still need people who know how to do them and our industry as a whole wouldn't survive without them. You'll never know you're good at something until you try it.
