I'm guessing it's a combination of two things
1. The law wasn't really written to apply to what they did.
2. Thailand is a third world country with a third world justice system, and is acting like it.
- shitgoose 8y agore point #2, treatment of Assange is not according to the first world standards either.
- mikeash 8y agoHow so? He was accused of a crime, fled the country, then tried to dodge extradition by hiding out in a friendly embassy. The embassy part is weird, but he did that to himself. The rest is normal.
