Even five year olds are taught not to talk to strangers and not to tell them anything.
But somehow there seems to be a cognitive dissonance, where people are more than happy to share absolutely everything to anyone, just because it's happening in comfort and privacy of their home, while typing into a device they own.
- lmm 8y agoIt's terrible advice to five year olds though. Most people are decent, nothing bad will come of talking to strangers in the overwhelming majority of cases (particularly if it's someone you approach rather than someone who approaches you). Whereas we've had children e.g. come close to dying of exposure because they'd been taught not to talk to strangers.
