If Apple released some samples to reviewers, and they had problems, two things would have happened: - Apple would have NDA'd the problems out. - People would excuse the pre-production state of these devices. Mostly we don't care because it's not something people are seriously considering buying. It's a flashy thing that's crazy overpriced. It's like reading about Bugatti reliability problems. Boo hoo.
