The author is too humble. Should be titled: what everyone must know.
- skybrian 8y agoI disagree. It's great that Scott Alexander gathers all this information, and in the end admits he still doesn't know what the cause is. It leaves it open to further discussion.
- alpineidyll3 8y agoHuman behavior isn't always explicable. This is one of those deleterious behaviors which boils down to a bunch of smart people exploiting the cognitive, emotional biases of parents and students.
