- matt4077 7y agoLet’s not peddle flimsy rumors, especially not those accusing certain groups (as made here using the linked article). There is nothing to be lost in waiting for actual investigative results. And, fwiw, the early images clearly point to the fire breaking out in the roof, where construction scaffolds are clearly visible in all the images.
- robotrout 7y agoTo be sure, always wait for proof before acting. But pattern recognition is a thing. Although there was no evidence of a connection, France has seen a number of attacks on Catholic churches in the past year, including arson and vandalism. Paris’s Church of St. Suplice was set on fire after midday mass last month. No one was injured Police are investigating, but firefighters attributed the blaze to arson. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/pariss-notre-cathedral-is-on-fire/2019/04/15/c487906e-5fa1-11e9-bf24-db4b9fb62aa2_story.html?utm_term=.a19fa6484602 https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/pariss-notre-cat...

- narrator 7y agoWhen anything has a disagreeable explanation there becomes a strong presumption that it happened "all by itself". For example, the huge increase in crime in Sweden in recent years has also happened "all by itself". "Part of the reason is that Sweden’s gang violence, long contained within low-income suburbs, has begun to spill out. In large cities, hospitals report armed confrontations in emergency rooms, and school administrators say threats and weapons have become commonplace. "[1] Gang violence just spills like a liquid into different places "all by itself" and that's a reason why crime is rising.
