- philliphaydon 7y agoDown in Singapore
- chrstphrhrt 7y agoDown in Canada (Quebec).
- JorgeGT 7y agoI like how this is just a link to facebook.com --- the proof is in the pudding? Here's a link to downdetector though: https://downdetector.com/status/facebook https://downdetector.com/status/facebook
- thecupisblue 7y agoJust noticed this, wondering what is the cause behind a downage this serious - they rely on being constantly up and have huge investments in infrastructure to avoid this. Possible attack or a large change gone wrong?
- colejohnson66 7y agoReminds me of the YouTube outage a few months ago. You never notice that these sites are never down until they’re down
- iamgopal 7y agoWhatsApp is Working being much more distributed.
- mrzool 7y agoWhy are people upvoting this? It’s just a link to facebook.com and it’s not even true. All 3 services are working for me in Germany, so it’s definitely not “global”. A quick check on isitdownrighrnow.com tells me facebook and instagram are up and running.
- username90 7y agoIt is partially down globally, even in Germany, just that not everyone is affected. https://downdetector.com/status/facebook/map/ https://downdetector.com/status/facebook/map/ https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/772045/facebook-down-outage-london-britain-europe-usa https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/772045/facebook...
- stakhanov 7y agoBased in Austria, and definitely unable to access facebook and whatsapp. ...so it's probably a partial outage of sorts, but still a big deal.
- raverbashing 7y agoSure, "works for me" == everybody is lying. Great logic there https://downdetector.com/status/facebook/map/ https://downdetector.com/status/facebook/map/
- mrzool 7y agoI never said that.
- JorgeGT 7y ago"Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp are down for users around the world" says The Verge, which seems more accurate: https://www.theverge.com/2019/4/14/18310069/facebook-instagram-whatsapp-down-outage-issues https://www.theverge.com/2019/4/14/18310069/facebook-instagr... It's interesting to note that the same thing happened exactly one month ago: https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2019/03/14/facebook-instagram-whatsapp-suffered-global-outage-what-happened/?utm_term=.cca14f104945 https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2019/03/14/faceboo..., time to check the crontab?
