Exactly! When (not if) a fully autonomous self-driving car causes a terrible accident resulting in death, how are the loved ones going to feel when they've only got a company to blame? In such an emotional situation, the response needs to be better than Uber or whoever saying "we're very sorry our car did that, but hey, we're trying our best, and these things are going to happen". Are people really going to accept that? That's simply not going to fly.
