How did you find aegisub to work with? Were there any particular libraries you found useful. As the most heavily supported highly flexible subtitle format, I feel like it has a lot of potential for neat things like this!

  Aegisub is a very cool software to produce subtitles, but i expend a lot of time syncing. now i sync with lirik and apply styles with aegisub. When i want to produce the video i use ffmpeg. Thank you.
