  Note that Rust has supported mirroring ("source replacement") for a while now. https://doc.rust-lang.org/nightly/cargo/reference/source-replacement.html https://doc.rust-lang.org/nightly/cargo/reference/source-rep... This feature is for alternate registries that _supplement_ crates.io
