- the_mitsuhiko 8y agoIt was not deleted on the request of boeing but because the creator did not feel okay about it. He addresses the issue here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q17vykscK0w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q17vykscK0w

- zippergz 8y agoVimeo is based in NYC USA, how is it "European version of YouTube"?
- chupa-chups 8y agoYou're right. I was always of the opinion vimeo was european (it incorporated quite some european platforms like viva)
- cjbprime 8y agoYou might have been thinking of DailyMotion, which actually fits that description.
- IWeldMelons 8y agoIt has artsy, hipster and therefore "European" flavour to it though...
- Diederich 8y agoStrongly suggest everyone check out the video. It's...kind of shocking.
- cm2187 8y agoOne thing I don't understand is that if the trim is stuck in a position that pushes the plane down, shouldn't the high speed (and therefore strong air flow) help to put the trim back in a neutral position rather than making it more difficult?
- chupa-chups 8y agoNope, it is a jackscrew, and the aerodynamic load makes moving difficult, regardless of the direction. See https://www.satcom.guru/2018/11/stabilizer-trim.html https://www.satcom.guru/2018/11/stabilizer-trim.html
- 05 8y agoBecause of the nose up elevator.. Here's the explanation in one picture: [1] Here's the article the picture came from: [2] [1] https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6c8hfXS8WO4/XKd93voscrI/AAAAAAAAFw0/AXPqRNGD3kYefHUUWM4RwxvVsTKuTZNIgCEwYBhgL/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2019-04-05%2Bat%2B9.05.25%2BAM.png https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6c8hfXS8WO4/XKd93voscrI/AAAAAAAAF... - cjbprime 8y agoI wonder how the simulator decides to change the required torque on the trim wheels. I suppose it must be a full aerodynamic load model?
- treis 8y agoIt's also misleading. The pilot pulling back on the stick makes the wheel harder to turn. If he stopped doing that and helped turn the trim wheel they would have been able to adjust it. All that video really shows is that if you do it wrong it doesn't work. Not all that shocking
