- josefresco 7y agoThe headline is odd - not one mention of Congress in the entire article.
- duxup 7y agoBloomberg articles do that a lot. Many feel like "this is a good title" and then they sort of fill content that may or may not fit underneath it.
- Bartweiss 7y agoIt's an increasingly common issue with web news, yeah. Editors titling stories without input from writers is an old practice, but pay-by-page-load has moved it from a way to have consistent tone to a horrible runaway optimization. It doesn't even matter that much if you read the article, as long as the title is click-worthy enough to trigger those impressions. I assume Bloomberg is probably just slapping bad titles on stories, but I know Mic has been specifically accused of doing it the other way, like you mention; they'd hand a clickbait title to a writer and ask them to a fill in a relevant-enough-to-publish story under it.

- duxup 7y agoThat makes sense. You get some Bloomberg stuff that just seems like really low effort spam / blog stuff.
- stephanimal 7y agoWell they mention the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984 passed by congress to try to limit runaway drug pricing.
- josefresco 7y agoGood point although it highlights how lame Congress has been on the subject.
