- nicksantamaria 8y ago90% of our population lives within 100km of the coast between Melbourne and Cairns. However agricultural usage extends far inland in the temperate regions and there has been a lot of opposition to mining activities in our “wheat belts”.
- stephen_g 8y agoYeah, something like 60% of the country is basically uninhabitable... As for the rest, there isn’t really sufficient water resources to support much of a larger population without adding huge amounts of desalination.
