- Existenceblinks 8y agoHm, is Heroku PG a serverless postgres? I don't know what serverless postgres is seriously.
- pier25 8y agoNo, the Heroku PG is a VPS instance running a DB except that it's totally managed for you. A serverless DB is like Firebase or Fauna, where you pay by number of queries, storage, etc, and it scales up and down automatically much like cloud functions.
- vbsteven 8y agoWhat does that mean, a serverless postgres? Per query billing?
- zinclozenge 8y agoFor me that would mean no limit on number of tables and rows assuming "low" usage, probably in terms of number of reads+writes over a certain period of time.
- pier25 8y agoYeah, also storage. Check the serverless Fauna pricing as an example: https://fauna.com/faunadb/pricing https://fauna.com/faunadb/pricing
