What a ridiculous dispute. Change the actors and it's obvious how Amazon is completely insulting and ridiculous. There is a region covering several countries, with a widely recognised name. Is it even half-sane to imagine that one corporation takes ownership and proposes kindly to give each covered country a sub-tld?
E.g. Tencent runs .america and kindly offers the countries .usa.america, .can.america, .bra.america, etc. While using the rest as they please to advertise WeChat products, such as great.america, chat.america, .....oh and also they offer the countries 5 million renmenbi worth of tablets as compensation. Generous!
Or Siemens buys .asia and offers.each country a nice .in.asia, .pk.asia, etc and uses the tld to offer a new line of kitchen appliances e.g. washinmachines.asia.
Or Toyota runs .europe and offers kindly use to the countries: de.europe, fr.europe, ru.europe, .. while using the remainder to sell cars, motorcycles and pumps at pumps.europe, cars.europe, etc.
Kind of obvious how ridiculous this situation is? Who runs the internet and for whom? One internet company's interests should outweigh that of several countries and dozens of people's?
