My father (72 Years old) started Netflix waaaay back in the day thanks to the DVD service and you would be surprised by just how much better the selection is than their online catalog. He used it primarily for foreign films or artsy films that didn't have big theatrical releases. It's very funny because i would say at least 60% of the times I am looking for a movie on Netflix I am referred to their DVD catalog and end up having to use another service.
