The world is turning against live streaming
- asdf1280 8y agoI've been taking a class recently about how terrorists use the internet/social media to spread their ideals. One of the biggest issues with actually cracking down on this is that it takes a lot longer for you to find them and shut them down than it does for them to create another account. This become infinitely more difficult depending on the medium. Computers are really fast at matching strings and searching for keywords. Image recognition, on the other hand, takes a lot longer and video analysis even longer. My hope is that machine learning will develop to the point where it can be quick and effective enough to identify and remove content. The biggest problem with all of this boils down to the freedom of the Internet. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the Internet is bad. I love the freedom it provides, and don't think it should change. But it poses large problems that allow it to be abused and society has to move at the speed of its slowest, evilest people.
