Well investment is always a risk right? The investors aren't being fooled, they know what they're getting into but still believe in the business model. I agree with the little guy can't compete problem though. But that has been around forever. E.g Amazon has driven many smaller companies out of business by just being able to sustain massive losses for prolonged periods.
