  It reverts wholly to China, and becomes a Chinese city like any other. No more separate economic system, political system, currency, immigration, press, etc. But China is basically pre-empting that by gradually tightening the screws already. One of the factors (together with massive inequality and diminishing economic opportunities) leading to the 2014 umbrella protests.
