If you're working at a company that has multiple offices around the country (say SF, NYC, Boston), is it unreasonable to ask for the same compensation that a worker in the most expensive office gets? Assuming the role/responsibilities will be the same and the team consists of people from all offices.
- cirenehc 8y agoI think so (unless the job is remote), I think expense has to be taken into consideration when salary is being calculated.
- grigjd3 8y agoSo I work in a cheaper location for one of these companies and while I get paid a bit less, it's so much cheaper to live here that I can pocket a lot more.
- joshuamorton 8y agoYou can ask. That doesn't mean you'll get what you want. Are you going to refuse a job offer because it pays less than some arbitrary bar, even if it's the best offer you have?
