For starters, you've just revealed your cards: that you are talking to competitors or that you don't have much interest in working in your current spot. This is not really / always true. In the Bay Area people are always talking and you could easily just say you went to lunch with friends and they basically gave you a verbal offer and that you weren't directly shopping but it just fell in your lap.
