i just finished a cycle of interviews and hiring managers viewed long stay at a company as a definite positive. They in fact disliked job hoppers (every 2-3 years new job) as it damages companies in the long run according to them.

The company is just as interested in maximizing their profits as the employee is in maximizing their income. Both parties need to understand that employment is purely transactional. It’s that way for all companies. Netflix was honest about it. The famous presentation that “we are like a professional sports team not a family.”
