Ironically my ISP is using their DNS servers to block archive.is
- coldacid 8y agoSure sucks to live in New Zealand right now, doesn't it?
- slyall 8y agoThe block is a minor inconvenience. I'm okay with it as long as it is a temporary thing.
- mkl 8y agoI'm not. It tells me I can't trust my phone company to reliably provide the internet access I pay them for: who knows what they'll try to block next? I made a complaint, and got a response that quoted the terms of use which say they can mess with traffic if they want to. I know that, and my position is they shouldn't half-assedly try to police content. So, I installed a VPN on my phone.
- kiwijamo 8y agoI'm in NZ and the link works fine for me on my Slingshot connection. Probably an ISP-specific issue.
- kgwxd 8y agoPlease name and shame.
- mkl 8y agoThis was on HN the other day: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/blog/2019/03/isps-in-au-and-nz-start-censoring-the-internet-without-legal-precedent/ https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/blog/2019/03/isps-in-a... Spark NZ, Vodafone NZ, and Vocus NZ, at least.
