I wirelessly charge my iPhone through its case.

  Hell, I charge my X through a Quad Lock case which is about as thick as you can get (it has a bulge on the back to handle the connection to the Quad Lock mounting devices). It doesn't work with everything, but it works with my cheapo Qi charger and my Nomad charger in my Tesla. I'm sure it charges more slowly than with no case, but it does what I need.
