- sevensor 8y agoFunny you should mention that. Hi-vac turbo-molecular pumps often use maglev bearings. This is the pump that takes a chamber from low vacuum (like 1 torr) to high vacuum (like 1e-6 torr). It's a turbine that resembles a small jet engine.
