"Anyone in possession of a bump stock from now on can be charged with a federal offense punishable by up to 10 years in prison." I may be wrong, but I don't think this is widely known right now. I live in an area where there are a lot of gun owners and "AR" type rifles are one of the most popular among those who love to shoot guns. I'm sure quite a few own bump stocks, but not at all sure they know they need to get rid of them.
