Heh, in my English class in 9th grade (2005-2006) for one essay our teacher had us try one of those new automatic essay scoring programs. The scores were all over the place, for mine it claimed I didn't even address the essay subject at all. Anyway the teacher was reassured of his skepticism and continued with the practice of manual grading and feedback. I'd rather be the victim of a computer's bogus score than the victim of a computer's bogus accusation of wrong-doing. On the other hand it's important for everyone to experience the latter (by computer or not) at least once, and at least with plagiarism even if it's true you're not going to go to jail...
