Working is a hard-to-break habit. It gives you identity, a social circle a bond with most of your fellow humans and if you're really lucky fulfilment. Reality is, after a few months at the beach, you'd likely be pulled back to some sort of work by yourself. What I've found to be productive is to a) Work part-time and b) choose what I work on based on ROI and personal interest. Still plenty of time left for the beach if you work 15 hours per week on rewarding projects.
