"why not make people follow the law if it is fairly simple to do?" That's quite an interesting question, because it seems so common-sense. I think I know why it's an awful idea, but I'm not sure. I could certainly imagine such a question being used in all kinds of places that I would find uncomfortable, especially with computers being integrated so much into our lives and watching everything we do and think.
