I left Amazon a little over 3 years ago, having worked there for over 3 years. I would agree that this article seems misleading. Some of the things the article complains about were fixed while I was working there. The article compares Apollo to Kubernetes/Docker but Apollo predates Docker by years. The article complains about CloudWatch and log aggregation, but when I started Amazon internally had a mature log aggregation and monitoring solution that I would say is still unquestionably superior to the public version of CloudWatch.
