A mix of AMP for websites and the absolute dominance of Chromium as an engine behind Chrome, Chromium, Brave, MS Edge and other browsers is creating a reality where Google is doing to the web what Microsoft hoped to accomplish with ActiveX
They're going to bring the entire web under their control, more or less.
If there was ever a time to abandon every Google product you use, now is the time.
- echelon 8y agoNow is the time for an antitrust lawsuit. Google needs to be broken up. I have no problem with them making money, but not as a single entity dictating the future of technology (as a part of their platform).
- anticensor 8y agoGoogle is already split into a conglomerate holding structure. The next step would be a targeted teardown, not a split. If it does not succeed either, then full teardown aka revoke business licence.
