In the past few years I've worked from home, worked in places that had a cubicle, a room of 6 devs where everyone had their back to a wall, and now an open office floor plan. Right now I'm sitting in a corner near a wall with the open office floor plan. I have some desks partially behind me, with a conference room that's not used much. I've gotten used to it. I liked the six devs in a room thing, but my company outgrew that office two years ago. I also invested in some noise cancelling headphones, and it's absolutely essential. Right now I have two coworkers talking 5 feat from me, and I can't hear them.
