  Self-image can be a powerful feedback loop that reinforces other qualities. I think that the types of things he would value if his self image was of a "persecuted international man of intrigue" would be things like vigilance, perseverance, cunning, suspicion, and those would be helpful to his role @ Wikileaks due to the nature of his work. My $0.02.
