I'm just learning Rust right now and my initial thoughts are exactly your sentiment. Writing a backend for Websockets is so easy in Erlang/Elixir, seems a lot more difficult in Rust. Now, the performance of Rust is aspect that Erlang/Elixir will never close to reaching.
