Cost is not always the first/most important consideration for incarceration. Britain shipped convicts to the other side of the world (Australia) at one time.
- gruez 8y agoAre travel costs more expensive and/or imprisonment costs cheaper back then? I'd think that a one time boat ride was cheaper than holding someone for a decade or more.
