I purchased mine when they were first released (end of 2016), and as much as I love my AirPods, they are now down to ~2.5 hours of listening time per charge from my iPhone and <2hours when listening from my MBP for unknown reasons. The battery replacement is prohibitively expensive and I would rather purchase a brand new set but this update is rather underwhelming: same sound quality, same listening time with improved talktime, better latency and wireless charging - nothing that I really care about.
