- sigmaprimus 8y agoMaybe the reply was meant for me? Maybe it's just me but because there is no off switch on a Rpi I am constantly plugging and unplugging it, I have found the receiver or female part of the connector on the board tends to get loose from that, that is where the loss of power seems to be coming from, I have run into this issue with my BLU amazon phone also. I'm just not a fan of the micro USB connector I guess, but maybe it's just me and no one else has thus problem.
- dustindiamond 8y agoI shut it down via the commandline, but, that doesn’t really solve turning it on.
- sigmaprimus 8y agoActually I don't know if it is just cheap cables, I am not sure if it is the male or the female part of the connection that is degrading. The next time I get into town I am going to purchase a "Premium" USB to micro cable and a new PSU and will see if that solves my issue. I am concerned that my past ebay and dollar store purchases may have corrupted my stock of cables with factory 2nds and rejects.
- godelski 8y agoI'm replying to you because I don't know why you're bringing up USB power requirements as an issue.
