So what's the list of browsers now that have autoplaying blocked or have that feature planned?
- mental1896 8y agoI've started to make a list: - Firefox -
- ucha 8y agoSafari does that too. https://www.howtogeek.com/326532/safari-now-disables-auto-playing-videos.-heres-how-to-allow-them-for-certain-sites/ https://www.howtogeek.com/326532/safari-now-disables-auto-pl...
- swiley 8y agoElinks and dillo have autoplay blocked :p
- andyn 8y agoChrome won't autoplay videos having audio. Unless you've already interacted with the site.
- tsukurimashou 8y agoLynx :^)

- wojciechpolak 8y agoSafari has it and is doing it much better, because it blocks both video and audio autoplay. I just tested it on Firefox 66 and I'm very disappointed. It blocks only audio and... it's broken anyway. On one page the first video was audio muted (great!), but then the second video came after the first one finished playing and it was suddenly unmuted! The tab was inactive and suddenly the sound came from it. Until fixed, I'm still going to use Safari for this solely reason.
- yoasif_ 8y agoWhich site?
- ape4 8y agoGenerally this is good. But I wonder, lets say you want to allow autoplay on Netflix. Do you need to enable it on all subdomains and CDNs - that could be tedious. (I don't know if Netflix has subdomains, CDN, just an example)
- graindcafe 8y agoI think it doesn't matter where the media is but rather from what website it is played.
