I believe I have the same thing in structurae [1]. I have a RecordArray[2] class for exactly this: you can define a struct (or record) and use ArrayBuffer to hold a specified number of structs. Although I went with extending DataView to do it all instead of creating a "wrapping" class. I wrote about it in the article introducing structurae[3].
