Two planes of the same model crashing of is a statistical anomaly. Science is the correlation of hypothesis with statistical evidence. If I made a hypothesis saying that something is wrong with the 737 max then two 737 planes crashing is valid supporting evidence. Therefore, the decision to regulate is scientific. The decision to not regulate and claim that there is no scientific evidence when their clearly is... is more likely to be a cover story to protect big businesses then an actual decision made to support your safety.
