I only buy fanless laptops now.
- saagarjha 8y agoI run Linux exclusively on my fanless Chromebook and remote computers, so I guess I kinda do the same thing ;)
- Riada 8y agoWhat Chromebook do you use if I may ask? Do you use Crouton or did you completely flash Linux on it?
- saagarjha 8y agoI dual booted on the new Samsung Chromebook 3: https://saagarjha.com/blog/2019/03/13/dual-booting-chrome-os-and-elementary-os/ https://saagarjha.com/blog/2019/03/13/dual-booting-chrome-os...
- systemBuilder 8y agoIf you can find an Acer c720 i3 it's a superb machine no fan and pretty fast, faster than an old ThinkPad and extremely comfortable to carry! It's still the number one selling Chromebook of all time! I have a 4GB RAM 256 gigabyte 2242 SSD and IPS display in mine! 7 hour battery life (new), 6 hours for most of the design life. Totally trivial to repair!
- saagarjha 8y agoPersonally, I find the Acer C720 to feel and look a bit too "cheap" for my tastes.
- Riada 8y agoDo you have a list of fanless laptops that you might recommend? (I only know of the Huawei MateBook X and the Xiaomi Mi Air.) I have to bear with my laptop's loud fan, but I would like to replace it with a fanless one in the future.
- darkmighty 8y agoI've had good experiences with some chinese manufacturers (first hand experience, Jumper and Alldocube, heard of Chuwi and Xiaomi), they're putting out good quality very cheap products. I'd just go for metal/aluminum body if you can find it.
