It's an iPhone accessory, not really a consumer product. It can't be used outside of the apple ecosystem without involving an iphone in the process and that stops it from being a widely adopted wearable product. Apple's marketshare is dropping with every yeah and they sell only roughly double the previous smartwatch incumbent, samsung despite apple having a generally more affluent userbase. I hope this tech reaches more people with less restrictive hardware options.
