If you address downvotes-as-disagreement, wouldn't you also have to address upvotes-as-agreement?
- Razengan 8y agoOn HN at least, upvotes don't necessarily mean "everyone's going to see this first" — vote score is not even shown for comments! But even 3 downvotes are enough to decrease the visibility of a comment. Downvoting for disagreement abuses that fact.
