While there are cases where I think microservices make it easier to scale an application across multiple hosts, I don't understand the organizational benefits compared to just using modules/packages within a monolith. IMO a team that makes an organizational mess of a monolith and makes it grow unwieldy will likely repeat that mistake with a microservice oriented design.
