Does Boeing have the ability to disable the subsystem in the 737 Maxes that is the issue? (I’m not saying that this would be an alternative just curious .)

- linuxftw 8y agoProbably, but from everything I've read to date on the issue, the feature is a safety requirement due to the increased possibility of nose lift during takeoff, which might create a stall. So, 'just disable the trim' that has been throw around really sounds like they're disabling a critical feature, safety-wise, and while it's possible to fly the plane successfully without it, someone somewhere determined it was less-safe to do so.
