Why on earth would anyone want a chemical free farm? That just decreases yield and increases risk, contributing to increased price.

- jelliclesfarm 8y agoNope. Increasing yield leads to glut leading to low price. For the farmers. Plus there is always the downside of chemical pollution of air, soil and environment. Farmers are at the very bottom of the supply chain. We don’t see any appreciation in income even if food prices go up.
- genericone 8y agoIf you dig into those youtube channels, you'll find just how damaging the chemical fertilizers have been for our soil biome, how damaging tilling is to the microbiology, how herbicides leave farm soil bare and creating soil compaction and flooding when the inevitable rain is unable to infiltrate the soil fast enough.
- genericone 8y agoIt turns out that unless you are an uber-agri-corp, you're better off serving the niche local and regional markets. Yes you may have smaller yield, but why on Earth should you be incentivized by yield and not profit? Profit is the purpose, yield is the means to acheive that for big companies, small companies can focus on quality, flavor, nutrition, health in order to profit. Leave yield to the supply chain managers, let the farmers grow actual food I feel good about eating. No more bright red flavorless strawberries.
