Anyone know how many AWS instances (and what types) are being run? Are these the same servers that account for up to 20% of downstream bandwidth in the U.S.?
- babar 16y agoI doubt these servers account for the bandwidth, since the article mentions they are using other CDNs for hosting the streaming since CloudFront isn't yet up to the same level.
- bkmartin 16y agoI don't know how many instances, but I'm guessing there might be a good many that are microsoft based because they use silverlight as their video player base. Also, I get a Microsoft-is-good feeling from them. Add to the fact they use silverlight and then Adrian references VMWare and Microsoft as going to be dominating the private cloud (which I think is way to early to call).
