In 1980 the British Standards Group produced a document, Method for Preparation of a Liquor of Tea, setting out the British Standard method of tea brewing. This was BS 6008:1980. ISO Technical Committee 34 (Food products), Sub-Committee 8 (Tea) later created ISO 3103 from this.
