This article contains really no good reasons and spends many words to say that unnamed alternatives exists.
One argument is that there are no new big features. But that is completely normal when things become stable.
- cwingrav 8y agoAgreed. I came for rational but saw none. There seems to be a lot of hate for Docker I don’t understand. Is it community management? Is it some esoteric tech concern? Can someone more knowledgeable pipe in?
- pknopf 8y agoI agree. Why do people hate Docker, the CLI. Anyone? I mean, it's slowly going OCI, so no vendor lock-in.
- pxtail 8y agoHN crowd likes to gaze at FANG-like corps and treat it like gods, FANGs use Kubernetes? well then for sure docker is passe :) It doesn't matter that for some use cases swift and straightforward solutions like docker and it's ecosystem are better.
